Extractions

Extractions are dental procedures in which a tooth is removed from its socket in the jawbone. This is typically done when a tooth is severely decayed, damaged beyond repair, impacted (as with some wisdom teeth), or causing crowding in the mouth. Extractions can be simple (for visible teeth) or surgical (for teeth below the gumline or broken).

Dentists perform extractions with care to minimize discomfort and promote proper healing. After the procedure, patients may be given instructions for at-home care, such as avoiding certain foods, using cold compresses, and taking prescribed medications. In many cases, extracted teeth can later be replaced with options like dental implants, bridges, or dentures to restore function and appearance.
